Introduction John Martin Venter

Introduction

I’m John-Martin Venter, a 12th generation African and will be your guide on safari.

My career was mapped out as a little boy in Swaziland on the banks of the Usutu river where my father was plying his trade as a professional crocodile hunter. After having hunted extensively across Africa, I shifted my operations to the home of African safari – Tanzania, and currently reside in Dar Es Salaam

I believe very seriously in hunting, and in the African Safari. For many, a hunt in the “Dark Continent” is the realization of a long held dream. While this has been somewhat cheapened by the new era of ranch hunting, packages and guarantees, the ideal of a serious, fair chase hunt for big, dangerous game in wild and open country is still attainable. I hunt in Tanzania in order to achieve this.

Successful hunting is the product of many variables. Firstly a good area with huntable numbers of trophy specimens is important. In this regard I am very privileged to be aligned with some of the biggest outfits in Tanzania. I can therefore tailormake safaris in over 23 different hunting concessions.

This gives us the ability to cater to all hunters. Tanzania has three distinct regions, each with differing habitats and therefore species. Not many can offer the entire spectrum – we can.

We also take pride in using top notch equipment. This includes late model Toyota Landcruisers, Satellite phones, HF radios, GPS, and on board vehicle refrigeration amongst others. When doing a 1 on 1 safari, I will be personally piloting you to your hunting area, alleviating the costs of charter flights.

If a second hunting guide is needed, we use Dylan Cloete, Deon vd Westhuizen or Pete Barnard. They are the very best men and amongst the finest professionals Africa has to offer. Our trackers, skinners and camp staff are hand picked and trained.

We do not pretend to be cheap, or offer packages, specials, or the like. However, we do offer great value for money as well as a price structure that shields you from infamous hidden charges and nickel and diming.

All in all, we offer a true African safari. We hunt hard and we have fun. In the following pages you will find more information and a gallery of pictures of satisfied clients with their trophies. A list of references is provided and many more can be offered on request.

Feel free to contact us with any questions and queries.

Sincerely
John-Martin Venter
